This center was built in 1972 and has a double aspect. On one side, a lot of space for the youth and their activities and on the other a room dedicated for artistes. Every three weeks a new exposition of a talented artiste is shown, whether it is a photographer, a painter or a potter as examples. All the activities for the youth have for purpose to transmit knowledge, discover art and obviously build friendships. 

“Le centre Jacque Brel” just celebrated his 40th anniversary a couple years ago. It is a great accomplishment because this center is a social environment dedicated to the youth and adults.  It provides cultural activities where people can meet and discover each other’s culture. Thionville being located near Germany and Luxembourg people from diverse background exchange a lot in a very friendly environment.

This center is sponsored by the city of Thionville but also the department of Moselle; it proves that it really helps our region culturally and that it matters for us to exchange with others.
